Where help is needed
  • Over 30% of students nationwide - and roughly half of African American and Hispanic youth - do not graduate from high school, putting them on a course for a life of limited possibilities
  • Without proper assistance and training only 10% of students from disadvantaged backgrounds currently graduate from college, with the majority not completing their freshman year
  • The Simon Scholars Program focuses on life skills development, leadership training and assistance with academic preparation. 87% of all Simon Scholars who entered college since 2005 have graduated or remain as full-time students maintaining or exceeding the required academic standing that the program demands
Opportunities to make a difference
  • The national expansion of the Simon Scholars Program depends on support from other philanthropic entities who recognize the value and benefits of the wrap-around support that is the core of the Simon Scholars Program
  • In partnership with America's Promise Alliance, the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing is seeking varying levels of financial commitment and involvement best suited to the philanthropic objectives of individuals, corporations and foundations
