For other scholarship providers who recognize the achievements of our Simon Scholars, the Simon Scholars Program wants to create partnerships to increase the financial awards and support for these deserving students throughout their college careers.
- Have been thoroughly prepared for college, both academically and socially.
- Have received 2 years of intensive life skills training in high school to greatly enhance their self-confidence and self-esteem
- Are supported academically, socially and emotionally to be fully prepared for the academic rigors and social integration needed to successfully complete college
Simon Scholars defy the odds that say students from such difficult backgrounds will become college dropouts, especially during their freshman year. Of the students who have entered the Simon Scholars Program, 90.7% are still active today or have graduated college. Of the first class of 2005 Simon Scholars, over 87% graduated from college, compared with a national average of only 10% of students from similar backgrounds.
"We invite other scholarship providers to partner with us to provide college scholarship opportunities for these well prepared students."
