About Us

Simon Scholars Program

A Proven, Scalable Solution

The Simon Scholars Program is unique and highly successful. It offers much more than tuition for college. It reaches into the lives of promising high school students most in need of support and equips them to succeed, inside the classroom and out, in college and beyond.

90.7% of Simon Scholars are still active in our program today or have graduated from college.

  • Simon Scholars begin the program as they enter their junior year in high school and participate in life skills training, academic preparation and team building activities with their Simon Scholar peers during their last two years in high school
  • Simon Scholars then enter college with enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem making it highly likely to receive at least a bachelor's degree.
Guiding Principles

These founding tenets of the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing guide and shape the Simon Scholars Program:

  • Respect is earned, not given
  • Self-esteem comes from personal achievement
  • Education creates opportunities, not guarantees
  • Success is measured from within, not on a balance sheet
  • Opportunity denied is tragic, opportunity wasted is inexcusable
Simon Foundation

Formerly known as the Ronald Simon Family Foundation, the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing ("SFEH") is a 501(c)3 private operating foundation with the vision of enabling deserving individuals to realize the American dream. Since its start in 2003, the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing has helped hundreds of America's disadvantaged youth and awarded over $13 million in scholarships. The Simon Scholars Program was created to support students in their efforts to earn the education they need to become independent and self-sufficient adults. The Simon Foundation for Education and Housing also hopes to become a force for change in addressing the critical issue of building truly affordable workforce housing and will soon add the Affordable Housing Initiative to its programs.
